Jibilika is the organizers of Zimbabwe’s edition of the international dance battle RIVALSKOOL a freestyle dance event from France. The Ultimate Battle Rivalskool is an international battle dedicated to schools and crews. Zimbabwe has been part of the competitions since 2016.
The competition “Made in France”, created in 2008, is based on the association of freestyle dance and steps game, all on a musical background exclusively Hip-Hop. It’s in the heart of the City of Lights, Paris, that dancers from all over France and the world compete against each other, through atypical steps.
It focuses on freestyle, talent, improvisation, and musicality.The Rivalskool Battle 1 vs 1 happened in Zimbabwe for the third year. Last year saw Gweru dancer Rayaaz Nanhanga clinching the title and traveling to Paris to represent the county. The previous year Panashe Gabi had won the title and also traveled to France.Last year saw Tanaka Machikicho and Felix Mwale representing the country at the event. The event happens in cooperation with Jibilika Dance Trust and this year had the support of Alliance Francaise in Harare.
